About us

The moment we drove down the drive to Old Holcombe Water Farm, surrounded by the absolutely stunningly peaceful Somerset countryside, we instantly knew that this was where we wanted to live out our very own “Escape to the country”.

Anyone who knows us will know that this has been a dream of ours for so many years, and we really do feel incredibly lucky to have found the most perfect spot to realise this dream.
We love to chat with our guests and we are not surprised to hear that some visit us THREE times a year, or have returned for the NINTH time because they, like us, appreciate the peace, quiet and stunning surroundings on offer!

The swooping bats at the “Bat Bench”, the fish hanging out in the pond, the birds flitting around and the gentle rustle from reeds by the pond provide the perfect backdrop for our new chapter amidst the stunning Brendon and Quantock Hills, with the simply stunning Exmoor Park literally across the road!

With so much natural beauty right here on our doorstep, we are perfectly placed for walkers, cyclists, nature-lovers and stargazers (being in Europe’s first Dark Sky Reserve), making our stays popular with couples, families and groups wanting to get away from it all, especially out of season…

If you require a little more adventure then you are just a short drive from a variety of year round dog friendly beaches. Wimbleball Reservoir is just down the road with its water sports and beautiful walks. Fossil hunting at Blue Anchor and Donniford Beach, the West Somerset Steam Railway, the beautiful Porlock Weir, walk over the medieval Tarr Steps, and visit the beautiful Dunster Castle. And that really is just the start! There are also plenty of excellent local family and dog friendly pubs within easy reach, serving a smashing variety of food to suit all tastes.

There is so much to see and do in the area that it is worth taking a look at our things to do page for inspiration!

We hope you love it as much as we do and can’t wait to welcome you to Old Holcombe Water Farm!!
