Stowey Walking, the 'Walkers are Welcome' steering group for Nether Stowey and Over Stowey, will be holding their walking festival in June this summer in and around the Quantock Hills and West Somerset coast. There will be a variety of walks to suit all abilities. Many of the walks will have a theme with local experts leading each walk.

Brompton Regis Show and Gymkhana
The Biggest Little Show Around. The annual Brompton Regis Gymkhana and Show dates back many years. Held in August each year.
Minehead Bay Festival
The Minehead Bay Festival brings international art and culture to the town and community of Minehead, while celebrating our talented local artists, musicians and young people and giving them a platform to showcase their work! Held in September each year.
Bridgwater Carnival
The origins of our annual carnival in Bridgwater can be traced back to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators, failed in their attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Held in November each year.

Somerset Day is the 11th May and is celebrated annually over the second weekend in May. It marks Alfred the Great’s call to arms and the gathering of ‘all the people of Somerset’ to march against the invading Viking army.
